Briton (brit'n) n. 1. a member of an early Celtic people of S Britain 2. a native or inhabitatnt of Great Britain, esp. an Englishman Wikipedia definition for the word Briton: The term Briton may have the following meanings:
2. Their descendants in Roman Britain, and the period up to the Norman Conquest, and the indigenous inhabitants of Scotland at this time (referring to Brythonic Celtic people, as opposed to Romans, Scotti or Anglo-Saxons).
2. A person indigenous to Great Britain, or member of Britain's indigenous majority. 3. A member of the British ethnic group, either in the United Kingdom or abroad. Note: About 150 million people world-wide refer to their ethnic heritage as British, or as having a strong British influence. The largest concentration of ethnic Britons living outside of the United Kingdom is in the United States, where approximately 40 million people claim British heritage. There are also large concentrations of Britons in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
